Head of Department - Biochemistry / Professor of Biochemical Metrology, Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) / Technical University Braunschweig, Germany

Joint appointee between the PTB and TU Braunschweig with a special focus on the teaching of the benefits of metrology in biochemistry. He has over 25 years experience of developing mass spectrometry based reference methods for food, bioprocess and clinical applications.

Active member of the Working Groups on Organic Analysis (OAWG) of the Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance - Metrology in Chemistry and Biology (CCQM). Current Chair of the CCQM OAWG Task Group on Clinical and Toxicology, Convenor of the Sub Committee on Bio and Organic Analysis of TC-MC EURAMET, Vice Chair of the European Metrology Network on Traceability in Laboratory Medicine.
