Director of Biological Metrology, National Measurement Laboratory (NML), LGC, UK
A molecular biologist with international expertise in biological measurement science, he works with a team of 24 scientist at the NML that provides strategic leadership across a multidisciplinary life sciences portfolio. His work focusses on ensuring accurate and comparable bioanalytical measurements including in international assay standardisation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Current Chair of the Working Group on Nucleic acids of the Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance - Metrology in Chemistry and Biology (CCQM). Previous coordinator of the European Metrology Partnership funded project on “Metrology to enable rapid and accurate clinical measurements in acute management of sepsis” (SEPTIMET).
